Officers responded to the listed location in reference to a non breather. Officers arrived with medic. Medic personnel pronounced subject deceased at 1526 hours. Madison County Coroner Dr. Kaehr was contacted and responded to the scene. Dr. Kaehr released the body to the funeral home.  See case for further.

Animal Complaint - Other

West Bigelow Ave.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location reference a canine in a vehicle. Upon checking the vehicle Officer observed the canine in the vehicle. The windows were rolled down and the canine did not seem in distress.  Officer made contact with canine owner, inside the business who advised they checked the dog everything 30 minutes to ensure it was okay. Officer then returned to patrol.

Suspicious Vehicle

East First Ave.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location reference a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, Officer observed a tan Chevy truck parked on the property at the listed location. Officer attempted to reach the owner of the vehicle without success.  Officer made contact with the caller and homeowner who advised it was okay, as long as no property damage occurred. Property owner also declined to have it towed at this time. Later, Officer was advised the vehicle was moved.  Officer checked the property and did not observe any damage. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer was dispatched to the area of SR 161E in reference to a driving complaint. Officer located the vehicle on the parking lot of Domino's Pizza. Officer made contact with the driver who advised he is lost and pulled over to locate his friend's house on GPS. Driver had no signs of impairment.  Upon determining everything to be okay, Officer returned to patrol.

Officer was advised by a passerby of a male walking on Lafayette Plain City Road near Perry Pike.  Upon arrival, Officer located subject walking on Perry Pike and made contact with subject.  Officer learned subject was in a possible domestic violence incident with his stepmother.  Officer then transported subject to the Shell gas station and made contact with Madison County Sheriff's Office. Shortly after, Officer was met on scene with MCSO Deputy who transported subject back to his residence to investigate the incident. After assistance was no longer needed, Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer responded to Main Street and Cross Street in Unionville Center as backup for UCSO Deputy who was on a traffic stop. After assistance was no longer needed, Officer returned to patrol.

Officer was running stationary radar at West Avenue when Officer observed a white Honda traveling westbound at 37 MPH. Advian Ihunav was subsequently issued a citation for Speed (PC ORD 333.03C) and No OL (ORC 4510.12A) and released. His vehicle was towed to the Plain City Impound Lot.

Traffic Stop

East Main St.

Officer conducted a routine registration check on silver Ford Sedan. The registration returned to Darrell Smith, a suspended driver.  Darrell was issued a citation for FRA Suspension and No Valid OL. Darrell was given a verbal warning for No Seat Belt and No Front Registration. Darrell contacted his friend, a valid driver who later picked Darrell and the vehicle up. Officer then returned to patrol.

Protection Order Violation

Officer conducted a routine registration check on a light blue Ford Explorer.  Officer learned that the registration expired.  Officer also learned that the registered owner had a warrant for Domestic Violence Warren County Sheriff's Office and also a protection order.  Officer made contact with the driver, who became known to Officer as Monty Derefield.. Monty was placed into custody for Violating a Protection Order and Obstructing Official Business. Officer transported him to the Tri-County Regional Jail.

Officer was unable to locate a phone number for the owner of the wallet.  Officer requested MCSO Deputy with the Madison County Sheriff's Office made contact with subject.  On 12/30/19 Officer released the wallet to the owner at the Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to the listed location in reference to a possible domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with both parties. Both parties denied any physical altercation. Officer then learned the female subject had an active warrant out of Delaware County Municipal Court for Failure to Appear. Officer then transported female subject to the Tavern 42, where Officer was met by a Deputy from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office and released female subject into their custody. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer was dispatched to the area of Village Blvd and Harrington in reference to a driving complaint. Officer made contact with the driver who stated that she was lost and pulled over to locate her daughter's house on GPS.  The driver had no signs of impairment. Upon determining everything to be okay, Officer returned to patrol.

Officer was contacted via phone by complainant.  Complainant advised that he had been notified of an Instagram page called "Exposing Johnathalder" which contained derogatory postings about females that attended the junior high as well as the Jonathan Alder High School.  Due to the page being closed, and the fact no crime was alleged or victims reported, this matter is closed.
