Non-Injury Crash

Perry Pike

Officers responded to the intersection of Perry Pike and Madison Way for a non-injury crash. A dump truck turned onto Perry Pike from Madison Way, with the dump-bed still raised, which caught hold of a utility line and ultimately shattered a utility pole. Crews arrived on scene and fixed the down wire and pole. Subsequently, Arlo Perry, 64, of Cardington, was cited for Driving Unsafe Vehicles (337.01A). Once the scene was cleared, officers returned to patrol.

Officer responded in reference to a vehicle blocking the roadway. Officer made contact with the owner of the  gray Honda Accord that was parked in a way that was obstructing traffic and advised the vehicle needed moved. The vehicle was moved without incident.

Officer responded in reference to a parking complaint. The caller advised a black Cadillac Sedan had been parked in front of the listed location over a week. US Rt. 42 N

Officers initiated a traffic stop for several traffic violations. After making contact with the occupants, the driver, Dustin Wilkerson, did not have a valid driver's license and also had a warrant out of Champaign County Sheriff's Office. Dustin was placed into custody without incident. K-9 Andor completed an open air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive alert however, nothing was located during the probable cause search. Ultimately, Dustin was issued citations for the traffic violations and transported to Tri-County Regional Jail on the warrant. The passenger was warned for not wearing a seatbelt.

Officer was dispatched in reference to a vandalism complaint. The caller advised, her vehicle had eggs and ketchup thrown on the rear of the vehicle overnight. Officer looked to see if there were any cameras around but there weren't. Officer let the caller know that a report would be on file.

Officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the vehicle driver, Bryan Taylor, who had active warrants and a suspended driver's license. Bryan was then placed into custody without incident. A probable cause search was conducted by narcotic detection trained K-9 Andor, who gave a positive alert to the front driver side door. Ultimately, Bryan was citated for Drug Abuse Instruments (M2), No Valid OL, and license forfeiture suspension and transported to Tri-County Regional Jail.

Officer initiated a traffic stop and learned that the driver, Katelyn Moody, had an active warrant for Failure to Appear out of Madison County. It was also learned, Katelyn was driving on a suspended license. Ultimately, Katelyn Moody was arrested on the warrant. A probable cause search was conducted and a crack pipe and numerous prescription medications were located. Subsequently, she was issued a citation for No Valid OL, Noncompliance suspension, and given a summons for Drug paraphernalia.

Officers made contact with the driver and learned he had been engaged in a physical dispute with several employees. The employees declined to press charges. Subsequently, the driver Joseph Peterman, was placed into custody for OVI and was issued a citation for OVI and Disorderly Conduct.
