12/26/2019 3:39 PM Miscellaneous - Unclassified West Ave. On the stated date and time, Officer received an anonymous complaint that someone had driven through the easement on Maple St near West Ave causing damage to the grass. Photographs of the damage were taken. Based on the photo's it appeared the damage was caused by a tractor-trailer.  Officer then returned to patrol.   Pending
12/26/2019 8:58 PM Well-being Check Dickens Ln. On the stated date and time, Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a well-being check.  Officer made contact with subject at his residence. After speaking with subject, his mother, and his mother's boyfriend it was determined that subject was not suicidal just having some mental health problems.  Officer then returned to patrol.   Pending

12/27/2019 11:15 PM Drug Paraphernalia SR 161 E  On the stated date and time, Officer observed a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo traveling eastbound on East Main St/SR 161. The vehicle appeared to be traveling above the posted speed limit. Officer paced the vehicle at 58MPH in a 50MPH speed zone.  Officer also observed the vehicle go right of the white fog line. Officer initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Kaleigh Earles, and her passenger, Eric Mills. After further investigation, it was found Eric had a felony warrant out of the UCSO for Failure to Comply with a Court Order. Eric was placed into custody for his warrant. Officer had K9 Andor complete an open-air search of the vehicle. Andor gave a positive alert to the driver side door. During a probable cause search of the vehicle a glass pipe was located. After speaking with Kaleigh it was learned she had two syringes and another glass pipe in her pants. Upper Arlington Officer (female)arrived on scene and retrieved the paraphernalia.  Kaleigh was taken to Tri-County and booked in on Drug Paraphernalia and Drug Abuse instruments. Eric was also taken to Tri-County and booked in on his warrant. Kaleigh was issued a traffic citation for speed. Eric was issued a traffic citation for no seat belt. See SOF for further.   Pending
12/27/2019 11:44 AM Driving Complaint North Chillicothe St. On the listed date and time, Officer was dispatched to the area of North Chillicothe Street and East First Avenue in reference to a male riding a blue and white dirt bike that was not street legal. Upon arrival, Officer checked that area and located the motorcycle in the driveway.  Officer then met with a juvenile, who was working on the motorcycle.  Officer advised juvenile of the complaint.  Juvenile advised he just received it as a gift and was checking it out to ensure everything works.  Officer advised juvenile that it is illegal to ride a non-street legal dirt anywhere in the Village of Plain City. Juvenile advised he understood and would not do it again. Officer advised juvenile that if he was found to be driving the dirt bike he could face a citation and impoundment of the motorcycle. Officer then advised juvenile's adult sister of the consequences juvenile could face. Officer advised adult sister to have their mother call if she needs to speak with Officer.  Officer then returned to patrol.   Approved

12/27/2019 4:56 PM Juvenile East First Ave. On the listed date and time, Officers responded to a juvenile complaint in the area of the listed location in reference to a juvenile riding a dirt bike. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with juvenile who was standing next to his dirt bike at his residence.  Juvenile admitted to Officers that he was riding the dirt bike in the ally way next to his residence. Juvenile was cited for Operating an Off-Road Motor Vehicle on the roadway (ORC:4519.41) and his father was made aware of the incident and citation. Officers then returned to patrol.   Pending
12/28/2019 4:28 PM Traffic Stop West Main St. On the stated date and time, Officers performed a  routine registration check on a black Ford Contour.  Officer learned that the vehicle's registration was expired.  Officers then initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the vehicle's driver, Sydney Peake, and the her passengers. Upon further investigation, Officers learned that Sydney was under a Non-Compliance and License Forfeiture suspension and had two active arrest warrants out of Union County Ohio for Failure to Appear for Drug Possession and Non-Compliance. Paige Workman, who was the backseat passenger in the vehicle, had a warrant out of Union County Ohio for Drug Paraphernalia. Paige was arrested and transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail by Union County Sheriff's Office Deputy. The front seat passenger was released from the scene. While checking the vehicle's expired license plate Officers learned that the OhioTemporary tag returned to a 2005 Honda Odyssey registered to a different owner. Sydney admitted to altering the expired registration so that it would appear to be valid. The vehicle was then impounded and secured in the Plain City Police Department's impound lot.  Contact was made with the rightful owner of the license plate seized from the vehicle.  Sydney was then charged with Unauthorized Use of Equipment. 12/28/2019 10:20 PM Suspicious Circumstances West South St. On the stated date and time, Officer was on patrol when Officer observed a tan Toyota Camry with the front passenger door wide open at the listed location. Officer then made contact with the registered owner.  Owner advised everything checked okay and nothing was missing.  Officer returned to patrol.   Pending
12/29/2019 4:34 AM Assist Other Agency Smith-Calhoun Rd. On the stated date and time, Officer was requested by the MCSO to respond to the listed location and assist with a K9 track.  After Officer's assistance was no longer needed, Officer returned to patrol.   Pending
12/29/2019 12:06 AM Loud Noise/Disturbance North Ave. On the stated date and time, Officers responded to North Ave in reference to a loud noise complaint. The anonymous caller advised they heard yelling/screaming coming somewhere from the first floor. Upon arrival, Officers walked the entire first floor and did not hear any loud noises, screaming, or yelling. Officers heard what sounded like a male and female having a casual conversation in one of the apartments.  Officers knocked on the door, but no one answered. After deeming everything fine, Officers returned to patrol.   Pending
12/29/2019 2:17 AM Domestic Dispute North Ave. On the stated date and time, Officers were dispatched to the listed location in reference to a possible domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with male subject and his wife.  Officers learned that the two parties were in a verbal argument.  Both parties denied there was any physical altercation. Officers diffused the situation and both parties advised they would sleep in different rooms for the night to avoid any confrontation. Officers then returned to patrol.   Pending
12/29/2019 2:21 AM Assist Other Agency Friend St. On the stated date and time, Officer was met on station by Trooper of the Ohio State Highway Patrol in reference to a BAC test. Once assistance was no longer needed, Officer then returned to patrol. Plain City Police Department Pending
12/29/2019 4:20 AM 911 Follow-up Lafayette-Plain City Rd. On the stated date and time, Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a 911-follow up. Dispatch advised they received a call that immediately hung up. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with an employee of the facility. Employee advised a resident had accidentally called. Employee advised Officer that everything was fine and that she had just recently checked on the resident who was okay. After deeming everything fine, Officer returned to patrol. 12/23/2019 7:22 PM Domestic Dispute Fanshell Dr. On the stated date and time Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the listed location. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with complainant who stated that his parents were at his residence and refusing to leave. Parents had already left before Officers arrived on scene. Complainant stated to Officers he did not want his parents to come back to his residence for the rest of the evening. Officers made contact with parent who stated he was at complainant's house and did not make contact with complainant because complainant never came to the door. Parent was made aware that he could not come back to the residence for the rest of the night. Officer then returned to patrol.   Approved
12/23/2019 6:34 PM 911 Follow-up Willow Creek Dr. On the listed date and time, Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a 911 follow up. Dispatch advised they spoke with a caller who advised it was accidental. Upon arrival, Officer met with the caller. Caller confirmed that everything was okay and apologized. Officer then returned to patrol.   Approved

On the stated date and time, Officers were dispatched to Warner Rd, just north of SR 161 E, to assist OSP, in reference to a possible injury crash.  Officers stood by until Ohio State Highway Patrol Post 49 arrived on scene. Officers then returned to patrol.   Returned

12/24/2019 9:22 PM Suspicious Vehicle Alderwood Cir. N On the listed date and time, Officers observed a grey Volkswagen with its trunk left open at the listed location. Officers made contact with the homeowner and advised them that their trunk had been left open.  Homeowner came outside and saw that it was left open and stated they had just returned home and had not closed it yet. Officers then returned to patrol.   Returned
12/24/2019 7:45 AM Loud Noise/Disturbance Jackson Blvd. On the listed date and time, Officers were dispatched to the area of the listed location in reference to several gunshots. The caller advised that she had heard several gunshots. Caller could not advise where the shots came from but that they were very loud. Upon arrival,  Officers checked the area but did not hear any more shots. Officer made contact with the resident on Old SR 161 who advised that he had given permission for several hunters to hunt on his property. Resident confirmed that hunters had shot their firearms.  Officer made contact with caller and advised her of the source of the shots and returned to patrol.   Approved
12/24/2019 3:12 AM Drunk Driver West Main St. On the stated date and time, Officer observed a grey 2013 Kia traveling eastbound on West Main Street in front of the listed location. The Kia had only one operating headlight, no front bumper, no visible license plate, and the rear bumper was dragging on the ground. Officer initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and made contact with driver, Haylee Potts.  Haylee advised she just struck a deer on Middleburg- Plain City Road.  After further investigation, Haylee was subsequently arrested for OVI and transported to the police department without incident. While on station, Officer learned the Champaign County Sheriff's Office located the crash scene.  Haylee was cited for OVI, OVI Super Concentrate, and Driving an Unsafe Vehicle.  Officer then transported Haylee back to her residence and was released to her grandfather.  Haylee's vehicle was then towed from the scene. 12/25/2019 10:35 PM Non-Injury Crash West Main St. On the stated date and time, Officer responded to the area of West Main St near Guy St in reference to a non-injury accident. Upon arrival, Officer observed the vehicle, a tan Buick Sedan,  with heavy damage to the passenger side. Officer spoke with the vehicle driver, Lindsay Chamblin. Lindsay advised Officer she was traveling eastbound on West Main St near Guy St when she went off the roadway striking a utility pole just east of Guy St.  During Officer's investigation, Officer learned that Lindsay's daughter (6 yrs) was not in a booster seat. Lindsay was later issued a traffic citation for Failure to Control and Child Restraints/Safety Devices. Lindsay stood-by in her vehicle (not a road hazard) for AAA tow truck to arrive.
