12/19/2019 7:12 PM Miscellaneous - Unclassified West Main St. On the stated date and time, Officers responded to the listed location in reference to a possible vandalism. The anonymous caller stated someone was catching stuff on fire behind the listed location. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with Domino's manager who advised Officers that his co-workers caught an old pair of work pants on fire out back.  Officers spoke with subjects and advised them they could not go catching things on fire without proper safety precautions. Both subjects advised they understood and it wouldn't occur again. Manager advised Officer he had already notified the general manager of the incident. 12/19/2019 7:43 PM Attempted Suicide Smucker Ln. On the stated date and time, Officers were dispatched to the listed location in reference to a suicide threat.  Upon arrival, Officers made contact with subject who advised she was asleep prior to Officer's arrival. Subject was voluntarily transported to hospital by the medic. Subject's daughter was advised of the incident, and stated she was going to meet subject at the hospital. This incident will be forwarded to Adult Protection Services. A CIT was completed.   Pending
12/19/2019 4:05 PM Civil Dispute/Standby Madison Ave. On the stated date and time, Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a custody exchange. Upon arrival, Officer stood by while parties exchanged custody of their children, without incident. Officer then returned to patrol.   Pending
12/20/2019 8:59 PM Suspicious Vehicle Converse Ave. On the listed date and time Officers observed an open door to a black minivan in front of the listed location. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with subject who stated that the van belonged to his friend, who was not currently home. Subject stated that he would secure the door to the van.  Officers then returned to patrol.   Pending
12/20/2019 7:18 AM Injury Crash South Jefferson Ave. Officer was dispatched to a four vehicle crash on South Jefferson Avenue. Upon arrival, Officer met with the occupants of each vehicle. The driver of unit 4 (2010 red Toyota Corolla) and his passenger advised they were stopped in traffic when the car was hit from behind. The driver of unit 3 (2006 white Honda Civic) advised Officer she was stopped in traffic when her vehicle was hit from behind. The driver of unit 2 (2012 grey Honda Accord) and his passenger advised that they were slowing to a stop due to stopped traffic when they were hit from behind. Officer met with the driver of unit 1 (2010 black Cadillac CTS), Riley Gluntz. Riley advised he failed to observe the stopped traffic and struck the rear end on the vehicle in front of him. This caused the vehicle in front of him to crash into the subsequent vehicles in front of them. Statements were then completed by all vehicle occupants. Units 2, 3, and 4 were later towed from the scene due to operational damage. Unit 1 was driven from the scene. Riley was later issued a citation for Assured Clear Distance Ahead (ORC.#4511.21A) and advised the court will notify him when to appear. Officer then returned to patrol.   Pending
12/20/2019 12:28 PM Trespasser South Mechanic St. On the listed date and time, Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to an unwanted guest. Dispatch advised the subject was at the property and he is not wanted there. While en route, Officer learned that subject left in an unknown direction. Upon arrival, Officer met with the caller who advised that subject was beating on her door wanting to see their kids and then left when a neighbor came outside. Officer advised caller that Officer checked the area and did not locate subject. Caller did not wish to pursue charges.  Caller advised she wants Officers to add this incident to the report she filed earlier, (OIR#19-1560). Officer then returned to patrol.   Pending
12/20/2019 4:00 PM Domestic Dispute Friend St. On the listed date and time, Officers responded to the listed location in regards to a domestic dispute involving a male subject and his mother.  Male subject stated that he and his mother had a dispute at their residence.  Male subject was worried that the person his mother was on the phone with would hear the dispute and call the police. Officers then spoke with mother at her residence.  Mother confirmed there was an argument, but the dispute was just verbal.  Mother further stated that her son then became worried that the person she was on the phone with would hear the argument so son came to the Plain City Police Department to file a report. Officers then returned to patrol. Plain City Police Department Pending
12/20/2019 5:36 PM Driving Complaint South Jefferson Ave. On the listed date and time, Officers responded to the listed location in reference to a driving complaint that originally occurred on West Main Street and Gay Street by a red Ford.  The caller stated that the driver of the red Ford was driving left to center and swerving. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with subject who stated he did not remember driving recklessly. Officers informed subject of the complaint and later returned to patrol. 12/21/2019 4:45 AM Assist Other Agency SR 161 E  On the stated date and time, Officer was dispatched to the listed location to assist Union County Sheriff's Office in reference to an alarm drop. Once assistance was no longer needed, Officer returned to patrol. Beer Barrel Pending
12/21/2019 10:33 AM Behavioral Health Carriage Dr. On the listed date and time, Officer was dispatched to the list location in reference to an unknown complaint. The caller advised she was flagged down by an elderly male requesting she call the police. Upon arrival, Officer met with the caller and the male.  Officer thanked caller for calling and Officer advised caller Officer would assist the male. Officer then spoke to the male who advised he was confused several times.  Due to the confusion that male was dealing with Officer asked if there were any family members that Officer could call. Male then showed Officer a large piece of paper with several names and phone numbers on it.  Officer worked his way through the list until Officer was able to reach a friend.  A short while later male subject's friend arrived at the residence. Friend advised Officer that male was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's.  Friend also advised that male's step-son was en route to the residence from London, Ohio. Friend advised he would stay with male subject until stepson arrives and assist him. Upon determining everything to be okay, Officer returned to patrol. A copy of this report will be forwarded to Madison County Adult protective service.   Pending
12/21/2019 6:17 PM Assist Other Agency US Rt. 42 N  On the listed date and time, Officers responded to the area of US 42 and US 33 at the request of the Union County Sherriff's Office in reference to a vehicle pursuit.  Once Officer's assistance was no longer necessary, Officers returned to patrol.   Pending
12/22/2019 11:17 PM Assist Other Agency Corporate Blvd. On the stated date and time, Officer was requested by the Union County Sheriff's Office to the listed location in reference to an alarm drop. After assistance was no longer needed, Officer then returned to patrol.   Pending
12/22/2019 4:43 AM Recovered/Found Property No Name Alley  On the stated date and time, Officer was on foot patrol when Officer located found property.  Due to inability to locate the owner, it was secured and placed into property. Officer then returned to patrol.   Pending
12/22/2019 7:20 AM Suspicious Circumstances Dogwood Ct. On the stated date and time, while on routine patrol, Officer observed the front door open on a red Volkswagen Routan that was in the driveway. Officer made contact with vehicle owner and advised subject of the situation.  Subject checked the vehicle and advised that everything was fine. Officer then returned to patrol.   Pending
12/22/2019 7:26 AM Suspicious Circumstances Hawthorne Dr. On the stated date and time, while on routine patrol, Officer observed the driverside sliding door open on a grey Volkswagen that was in the driveway. Officer made contact with vehicle owner and advised him of the situation.  Subject checked the vehicle and advised that everything was fine. Officer then returned to patrol.   Pending
