Officers were dispatched to the listed location reference a driving complaint. Complainant advised that while riding her bike near Lee’s Sports and Spirits a white Jeep drove by nearly striking her. Officer then made contact with the vehicle owner, via phone. Vehicle owner was advised to drive safely, before returning to patrol.

Officer was requested by the Champaign County Sheriff's Office to contact subject and have her call their office. Upon arrival, Officer learned that subject had moved out approximately 3 weeks ago. Officer contacted the CCSO and advised them of this and also provided a possible contact number for subject. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a child that was locked out of his house. Upon arrival, Officer met with complainant. Officer than made contact with the child’s father and spoke with him about the importance of picking up the child and also of making sure that the child knew what to do and how to get a hold of his mother and father if no one showed up to pick him up. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer conducted a routine registration check on a Green Toyota Camry. The registration returned to Alexandria Cherry a non valid driver.  Alexandria was issued a criminal summons for drug abuse instruments and a traffic citation for no valid OL. Alexandria advised me her uncle was walking from near US 33 and US 42 to come get her and her vehicle. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a possible unresponsive overdose. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with complainant. Upon speaking to the subject she did not appear to be under the influence of any substance. With subject’s permission, Officer advised complainant in the future to enter the residence and contact subject if she does not answer. Complainant thanked Officer for his time and Officer returned to patrol.

Officers were requested to respond to the Suburban Mobile home Park in reference to a possible domestic violence incident. Upon the arrival of Madison County Deputy, Officer advised him of his findings. Deputy thanked Officer for his time and advised he would not need any further assistance. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a possible theft of gas. Upon arrival, Officer spoke with complainant. Complainant advised a red SUV had come in and they pre-approved the vehicle which got $20.01 worth of gas. She advised the vehicle then pulled off without coming in to pay. Complainant was unable to advise on the make/model of the vehicle or the vehicle registration.

Officer was on patrol when Officer observed a red Chevy truck parked in the listed location. Officer made contact with two subjects. They were advised the park closes at midnight and needed to go elsewhere. Both subjects were warned for Criminal Trespass and left without incident.  Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer conducted a routine registration check on a red Toyota Sedan.  The vehicle registration returned to Ken Collins a suspended driver. Ken was issued a citation for no valid OL and driving on an OVI suspension. Ken and his passenger were given a courtesy ride to their residence.  Ken’s vehicle was towed to the PCPD impound lot.

Officer conducted a routine registration check on a bronze Dodge Dakota.  The vehicle registration returned to Brian Mitchell a suspended driver.  Brian was issued a citation for driving on an FRA suspension and no valid OL. Brian’s vehicle was towed to the PCPD impound lot.  Vehicle plates were seized.

Complainant advised that he was recently reviewing his credit report when he discovered that an unknown person had opened an account using his name and information with Verizon Wireless back in 2015. Subject was in the process of disputing the charges and needed a Police Report to send to the credit reporting bureaus.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a possible suicide threat. Officer made contact with subject’s mother and advised her of the incident and findings. Subject’s mother advised that subject was home and everything was fine. She had already spoken with subject about the incident and would contact the police if she needed any assistance. She also confirmed that subject did not wish to harm herself.

Officer was on patrol near the listed location when Officer located a loose canine, a golden doodle.  Subject’s boyfriend retrieved the dog at about 7:40AM at the Police department. He was advised that they could be charged with allowing the dog to run at large if this continues in the future.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a telecommunications harassment complaint. Officer was able to get in contact with subject who denied the allegations. Subject was advised not to have any contact with complainant to which he agreed. Complainant was also advised not to have any contact with subject. After deeming everything fine, Officer returned to patrol.

On the stated date and time, Officer was advised subject had not returned home from work and his father was worried. Officer checked subject’s vehicle and found him asleep in the back seat. Officer advised subject to return home. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer observed a red Ford Van pulling a black utility trailer.  The trailer brake lights were not operating.  Officer initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Steven Morse, and his passenger.  Steven had an active warrant out of the Franklin County for failure to appear for a child support hearing and another out of the Columbus Police Department for failure to appear for a traffic violation. Steven was issued a verbal warning for the brake lights. Steven was then transported to the Get Go Gas Station where the Franklin County Deputies took custody. Steven’s vehicle and passenger were later picked up by a valid driver.

Officer was dispatched to the area of East Main Street and North Avenue in reference to a parking complaint. The caller advised that a black Cadillac was parked there with a "For Sale" sign on it. The caller was concerned that the owner was using this area as a used car lot to sell motor vehicles.  Officer was not able to make contact with the owner. Officer will attempt to make contact with vehicle owner and advise of the complaint.

Officer was on patrol when he observed a white Kia sedan parked in the northwest corner of McDonald’s parking lot past business hours. Officer then checked the immediate area around the business and did not observe anything out of the ordinary. After deeming everything fine, Officer returned to patrol.

Non-Injury Crash

Officer observed a white semi tractor/trailer turning westbound onto West Bigelow Avenue. As it did so, the rear trailer tires drove up on the sidewalk and ran over the "Do Not Enter" sign that was at the intersection. Officer initiate a traffic stop with the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Wayne Tomlinson, who advised that he was aware he struck something and was trying to find a location to pull over and contact the police department. Wayne was subsequently issued a citation for Overweight-Use of Local Streets (PC ORD 339.02A) and Failure to Control (PC ORD 331.34A) and released.

Officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound on South Chillicothe Street at West Avenue. The vehicle’s passenger side headlight was not operational. Driver was given a warning for the equipment violation and released.
