Officer was on patrol when Officer met with complainant at the listed location. Complainant advised that she had purchased a gift card while at Dollar General purchasing groceries and school supplies for another subject. Complainant realized that the gift card was placed into the bags for the subject.  Complainant returned and met with subject who advised she did not locate a gift card in the bags. Officer made contact with subject who advised that she did receive the bags with groceries and school supplies, but did not find any gift card in the bags and would have returned it if she had located it. She also advised she went through the bags with complainant to show her it was not there.

Officer was dispatched to the Police Department to meet with the caller in reference to a found MasterCard. Officer later made contact with card owner by phone. Card owner confirmed his card was missing.  Card holder arrived a short while later to retrieve his card.

While handling another call on North Avenue, Officer heard yelling and cursing coming from the listed address. Officer made contact with subject. Officer explained to subject that he wasn't there to correct subject’s parenting style and was just there to ensure that there were no acts of violence committed. Subject advised he understood and Officer returned to patrol.

Officer told subject that she should choose her words more carefully and to be cautious about saying anything that could be considered threatening in nature. Officer responded to the listed location on the report of a missing person. After gathering the pertinent details, Officer returned to patrol. Complainant called back just after 2PM and advised that subject had been located and was fine.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Upon my arrival, Officer learned who the vehicle was registered to.  Subject’s mother stated that subject was visiting a friend and she would contact him and have him move the vehicle as soon as possible. Officer then contacted complainant and let him know of Officer’s findings.

Officer was working school zone patrol, when Officer was approached by complainant. Complainant was advised to let the school know about the incident. On 8/24/2018 contact was made with subject on this date and she was advised of the incident.

Officer conducted a routine registration check on a gray Kia Sedan.  The registration returned to, Alexander Rausch, a suspended driver.  Alexander was issued a traffic citation for a non compliance suspension and no valid ol. Alexander was issued a criminal summons for open container. Alexander’s vehicle was moved off the roadway by a friend who also gave him a ride home.

Officer was flagged down on West Main St near Friend St by subject.  Subject advised she located a blue Visa Card.  Officer attempted to make contact with card owner, but was unsuccessful.  Officer contacted Chase Bank who advised Officer to destroy the credit card and they would notify the card holder.

Warrant - Misdemeanor

Officer observed a blue Honda Civic had its bright lights activated and also had a headlight out. Officer initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and made contact with the vehicle driver and her passenger, Branden Combs.  After further investigation it was found Branden had an active warrant out of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for theft. Branden was placed into custody for the warrant. Officer transported Brandon to Get Go Gas Station, where he was released to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Officer conducted a routine registration check on a yellow Scion Coupe traveling eastbound on West Main St near South Jefferson Ave. The registration returned to, Chandler King and his passenger, Alexa Cee. It was then found Alexa had a misdemeanor warrant out of the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office for Contempt of Court. Chandler was issued a traffic citation for Failure to Reinstate and No Valid OL. Officer then transported Alexa to the Tri-County Regional Jail and booked her in on the above warrant.

Officer was flagged down by subject who advised that he found a license plate lying in the roadway near 461 West Main Street. Officer made contact with plate owner who advised that his son-in-law would pick it up in the next few days.  On 08/26/2018 Officer released the license plate to plate owner’s daughter.  This was done with plate owner’s permission.
