Non-Injury Crash/Private

South Jefferson Ave.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to an injury crash. Vehicle driver advised that the brakes on his van failed as he pulled into a parking space at the listed location.  Because of this his van drove over the sidewalk and struck an ice cooler just to the south of the front door to the business.  The damage was photographed and vehicle driver provided the Dollar General management with all of his contact information in order to pay for the damages.

Parking Complaint

South Jefferson Ave.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a parking complaint. Upon arrival, Officer met with the caller, an employee of First Flight Auto, who advised that a white Chevy Cavalier had been parked on the lot for about a week. No one knew who the vehicle belonged to or why it was there. Caller requested that Officer make contact with the owner and have the vehicle moved.  Officer attempted to make contact with the registered owner.  Officer left 2 voice messages for vehicle owner.  Officer will follow up on 05/01/19.

Parking Complaint

South Chillicothe St.

Officer received a complaint that a vehicle was parked in a handicap parking space with no placard. Upon arrival, Officer observed the black Toyota parked in the handicap space. Officer made contact with the driver who stated that she was not parking but that she had pulled into the spot to wait for her children. Officer advised driver that she could not block the spot. She apologized and moved the vehicle. Officer then returned to patrol.

CIT Incident

West Main St.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a subject who was disorientated. Prior to arrival, dispatch advised that the subject was an individual whom Officer had prior involvement with (OIR #19-0334).  Subject seemed confused and didn't know where she was. Medic's from Station 261 arrived on the scene and subject requested to be transported to the hospital. Officers later determined that the subject’s vehicle was in the parking lot of  South Chillicothe Street. Subject’s brother-in-law advised that he would come back later to retrieve the vehicle. A CIT Report has been completed for this incident.

Well-being Check

North Ave.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a well-being check. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office stated that they had received a call stating that a female at the listed location had fallen several days earlier and had not received treatment. The caller was concerned that the patient would not go willingly with any medics. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with subject. Medic 261 then transported subject to the hospital without incident. Officer then returned to patrol.  Due to conditions of the residence, a copy of this report will be forwarded to the Union County Department of Jobs and Family Services.

Officer was requested by the MCSO to check in the area of SR 161 just east of the Village limits for a disabled vehicle. Officer patrolled the area but the vehicle was gone prior to Officer’s arrival.

Criminal Damaging

West Main St.

Officer met with complainant at the listed location.  Complainant showed Officer where someone had dropped off a fan and microwave near the donation box, but then someone threw both items off of the dock area onto the pavement, breaking both items. Officer told complainant that PCPD would try to provide additional patrols to deter this type of destructive activity. Complainant thanked Officer for Officer’s time and Officer returned to patrol.

Driving Complaint

Lantern Ln.

Officer met with subject at his residence in reference to a driving complaint that had been called in by an anonymous complainant earlier in the morning. The complainant advised that subject was driving a 2006 Jeep when he passed another vehicle in the 300 block of Lantern Lane and it appeared subject was agitated. Officer explained that it was illegal to pass the vehicle and it was also unsafe for a variety of reasons.  Officer told subject in the future to obtain appropriate information for the offending vehicle, keep a safe distance and then contact the police when it was safe to do so. Subject advised he understood and Officer then returned to patrol.

Recovered/Found Property

East Bigelow Ave.

Officer was advised of a black bicycle that had been abandoned against a tree right next to the water tower on East Bigelow Avenue. Officer picked the bicycle up and took it back to the police department where it was secured in the shed. The bicycle was had a serial number of which checked negative NCIC. After securing the bicycle, Officer returned to patrol.

On the stated date and time, while on routine patrol, Officer observed a car seat sitting next to a vehicle in the driveway to the listed location. Upon closer inspection, Officer observed an infant in the car seat. Officer sat outside of the residence for 5-6 minutes and no one came to check on the infant. Officer made contact with infant’s father and advised him of the incident. Infant’s father apologized and stated that he just got home and ran inside for less than 10 minutes. Officer advised subject that this was unsafe for the child to be left alone in those circumstances for any length of time. After determining everything to be fine, Officer returned to patrol.

Officer was dispatched to the area of the listed location in reference to a loose canine complaint. The complainant stated that there was a large brown/white dog running into traffic and people chasing it. Upon arrival to the area, Officer could not locate the canine in question. Officer met with complainant who stated that the owners had already come to get it. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer received a call from a teacher at Plain City Elementary School who advised Officer that she wanted to report a situation regarding two students. Teacher advised that the two students were to be staying the night at a friend's house tonight, but she was afraid that they wouldn't have a place to go after that.  Officer made contact with the student’s grandmother, via public service. Grandmother advised Officer that all subjects were evicted from their residences. Grandmother advised that the children were staying at Smith-Calhoun Road for tonight and wasn't sure where they would be staying tomorrow. Due to the circumstances, this incident will be forwarded to the MCDOJFS for follow-up.
