Suspicious Circumstances

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to suspicious circumstances. The caller advised that she had received a suspicious call from someone pretending to be her grandson.
She told him that she knew he wasn’t her grandson and not to call back. She suffered no loss. Officer advised to contact the Attorney Generals Offices in reference to the scam.

South Chillicothe St.
Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a theft. Upon arrival Officer met with the caller, who advised that someone had made unauthorized changes on her phone account as well as made purchases using her debit card totaling approximately $250, all in Texas. She advised that she was still in possession of her card. She notified both the phone carrier and her bank to dispute the charges and they were in the process of crediting her accounts. She also advised that she had contacted Experian Credit Bureau and they had flagged her account for a fraud watch. Incident was documented.

Criminal Damaging

Officer was dispatched to the YMCA Latchkey at the listed location in reference to criminal mischief. Upon arrival Officer met with the Child Care Coordinator. She advised that when she came to work this morning she noticed that the rubber cover was missing from the door bell along with 2 pieces of yellow plastic chain were missing from the rear of the building as well. After further investigation the juveniles identification was reported to the Child Care Coordinator who advised that she would be contacting the Principal at Canaan Middle School, where the juveniles attend. She advised that he would deal with the issue and that she would contact the Police Department if anything further was needed.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to suspicious circumstances. The caller advised that a man in a van had just showed up and tried to sell him bulk frozen meat. The caller felt that it was odd because the man wanted cash and seemed to be in a hurry to make the sale. Officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the occupants. Paul Jarod Lester was subsequently arrested for 2 warrants for Failure to Appear and Brittney Farmer was also arrested on 2 warrants. Both parties were transported to Tri-County Jail and released.

Officer was met on station by complainant in reference to a theft. He stated he was at the listed location when someone stole a chainsaw out of his truck bed. Investigation pending.

Officer initiated a traffic stop on a 2005 BMW 325 at the listed location for a moving violation. Tony Powell had a felony warrant out of Montgomery County for Failure to Appear and was placed under arrest and then transported to the Tri County Regional Jail and booked in on his warrant.

Officers arrested Tyler Smallwood at the listed location on two warrants for Theft and Receiving Stolen Property. He was transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail and released into their custody.

Suspicious Circumstances
West Ave.
Officer was requested to make contact with a resident in reference to a suspicious phone call. She advised that she received a call from a woman that worked for an organization possibly called Senior Retirement Services. She was concerned because she has never heard of the organization and thinks it might be a scam. The woman told her that a representative would stop by her residence to gather more information. Officer advised the resident to contact her attorney regarding her personal legal matters as well as the Madison County Adult Protective Services to see if they were familiar with this organization and to contact the Police Department if someone came to her residence.

Officers went to the listed location to locate Christopher Hansen due to a Failure to Appear warrant out of Marysville Municipal Court. Officers made contact and placed Christopher Hansen into custody and transported him to the Tri-County Regional Jail.

Officers were dispatched in reference to a possible trespassing complaint. Upon arrival, Officers found that the shed door was open. Upon further investigation, the complainant stated she believed her dog was making the noises that she heard coming from the backyard. Officers determined everything to be fine.

Officer was dispatched to the area in reference to a possible vehicle crash. Upon arrival Officer met with the driver, who advised he was driving his 2006 black Chevrolet and drove over freshly painted yellow lines on the roadway, causing paint to get on his vehicle. He requested an incident report for insurance purposes. Officer determined everything to be fine.

Officer was dispatched to the listed area in reference to a trespassing complaint. Dispatch advised someone walked through the yard with a small canine on their way to the park. Upon arrival Officer searched the area but was unable to locate anyone matching the given description. Officer determined everything to be fine.

Officer conducted a routine registration check on a silver 2006 Chevrolet HHR. Officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver. Emmanuel Wadsworth was transported and released to Springfield Police Department for an entered warrant out of the Clark County Municipal Court for a 12 Point Suspension and Failure to Control. The passenger was transported to the police department to wait for a friend because she did not have a valid license.

Telecom Harassment
West Ave.
Officer was met on station by a resident in reference to a telecom harassment complaint. She advised the subject recently contacted her through Facebook and has also started showing up at her church. Officer then made contact with the subject via telephone and advised him to not have any further contact with the resident, and advised of the possible consequences if this were to happen again. He advised he understood and agreed to not have any contact with the resident.

Officer was dispatched to the listed area in reference to a possible intoxicated male. Upon arrival Officer located the male in the garage with the homeowner, who were watching T.V.. Upon speaking with the male, he advised he was going to stay at the listed location and was not going to ride his bike anywhere else. Officer determined everything to be fine.

Officer responded to the listed area in reference to a firework complaint. The caller stated that somewhere in that area someone had just let off several fireworks. Upon arrival Officer checked the area but was unable to locate anything.

Officer was flagged down by a passerby and given a small turquoise leather purse. Officer checked the purse and found the drivers license. A short time later Officer met the property owner on station and the property was returned.

Officer was met on station by a resident. He advised that he and his girlfriend are in the middle of ending their relationship and she will be moving out. The home owner and the girlfriend were speaking about changing the lease and after hearing the context of the phone conversation the resident wanted to report the incident.  Officer offered to do a civil standby with him today but he declined, fearing that it would cause issues.  Officer advised him to contact the Police Department in the event of any future issues.

Officer was flagged down by a resident in reference to loud music. He advised that his neighbor was playing loud music and that he could hear it inside his house. Upon arrival the neighbor was outside in his driveway. Officer advised of the complaint and he did turn the music down and, at the Officer's request, pointed his speakers in another direction in an attempt to keep the noise from carrying so far.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival to the listed location Officer spoke with one of the involved parties. She stated she just got off work and the other party was not at that location. She stated she was not involved in an argument. Officer then made contact with the other party who advised he had been at his current location for several hours, and was not involved in any verbal altercation. Officer also spoke to witnesses who did not hear or see anything. Officer determined everything to be fine.
