Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a 911 hang up. A juvenile subject admitted that he did make the call. Officer asked subject not to make calls because it could prevent someone in need from getting assistance. Officer then returned to patrol.

Domestic Violence - Misdemeanor

Officer was on patrol when flagged down near the listed location reference a domestic violence altercation. Officer made contact with subject who advised he was just involved in a domestic violence altercation with his live-in girlfriend, Samantha Bertram. She was arrested for Domestic Violence and transported to Tri-County Regional Jail.  Officer transported subject to the police department where he provided a written statement. He was released from the police department to a valid driver. See case for further.

Officer was on patrol when he observed a suspicious vehicle at the listed location. Officer then made contact with two juveniles who advised they were just hanging out at the park. They were advised they were in violation of curfew. During the investigation, it was found out that the female juvenile had actually provided a false name and date of birth because she was "trying to get out of trouble." All parties were advised the juveniles may be receiving charges in the near future before returning to patrol. See case for further.

Officer was met on station by complainant who advised that this morning she had learned that her husband's debit card was fraudulently used at three locations outside of Plain City recently. Officer advised complainant that a report would be taken, but as these transactions occurred outside of Plain City, she would need to contact those jurisdictions to investigate.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a suspicious circumstance complaint.  The caller stated that he had received a package on his doorstep from UPS, but stated that no one in his household had ordered the item and it was not charged to any of his accounts. Officer advised caller to monitor all of his accounts and to contact the Police Department if he noticed anything out of the ordinary or if any new packages arrive. He thanked Officer for his time and Officer returned to patrol.

Officer made contact with an employee of the business who stated that a customer had turned in several cards that appeared to have fallen out of a wallet. Officer took the cards to the owner’s residence and returned them directly to him. Subject thanked Officer for his time and then returned to patrol.

Officer was dispatched to the intersection of Perry Pike and South Jefferson Avenue in reference to a possible injury accident. Officer made contact with the driver of a red 2000 Ford Taurus who  traveled through the intersection and was struck by a 2011 Silver Kia Sorento.  Subject of the Ford Taurus was issued a citation for Red Light Violation PC ORD (313.03C1) and Juvenile Traffic Offender (ORC 2152.02N) and released to his mother.  Both vehicle sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene.

Officer met with the Director of Security at the Richwood Bank who advised that her bank had been notified of a security issue, as well as the Delaware Branch of the Richwood Bank. Multiple agencies are collaborating in the investigation of this incident and other similar incidents in the area.

Officer conducted a routine registration check on a teal Chevy Silverado. The registration returned to, Adam Potts a suspended driver. Adam was subsequently issued a traffic citation for OVI Suspension and No Valid OL. Adam’s vehicle was towed to the Plain City Police Department Impound lot.
