Officer was notified of a large tree branch in the eastbound lane of SR 161 just east of Jackson Boulevard. Upon arrival to the area, Officer was able to remove the branch and then return to patrol. Note: There was very high wind at this time.

Officer observed a silver 2003 Honda illegally parked on the south side of the road. Officer then made contact with subject who was advised and moved the vehicle. Officer then returned to patrol.

Domestic Dispute

Shepper Ave.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with the caller who stated that he was concerned because the two subjects had been arguing since the previous night.  Male subject agreed to leave the residence until both parties had calmed down. After assistance was no longer needed Officer returned to patrol.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a possible burglary in progress. Upon arrival, Officer checked the area but was unable to locate anything out of the ordinary. Complainant thanked the Officer and Officer returned to patrol.

Domestic Dispute

Converse Ave.

Officer responded to the listed location on the report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, Officer met with both subjects, who reside at the address and are boyfriend/girlfriend.  It was decided that female subject would come back at a later time to finish moving out. Both subjects were advised to call PCPD for a civil standby if necessary. After determining everything to be fine, Officer returned to patrol.

Suspicious Circumstances

East Main St.

Officer met with complaint at the listed location in reference to a possible scam. It is unknown if there were phone problems with the caller or if the caller was not legitimate. Complainant was knowledgeable about not providing any personal information to anyone whom she was not familiar with and not to send any payments to anyone without having the products first, unless it was someone she trusted. After determining everything to be fine, Officer returned to patrol.

East Main St.

Officer noticed a Nissan Rogue with a male sitting on East Main Street near Church Street. Officer made contact with the driver who advised that he had pulled to the side of the road to use his computer before heading back to Columbus. After determining everything to be fine, Officer returned to patrol.

Officer met with an employee at Civista Bank. Complainant advised that they had two checks cashed at their branch that were discovered to have been fraudulent/counterfeit. Officer obtained all of the documentation that the bank had detailing the transactions. See case for further.

Officer received an anonymous complaint about a vehicle parked blocking the sidewalk at the listed location. Upon arrival, Officer met with a female at the listed address who advised the vehicle belonged to her and she would move it. She was unaware that parking across the sidewalk was a not permitted. After determining everything to be fine, Officer returned to patrol.

Officers were dispatched to the listed location in reference a well being check. Upon arrival, Officers met with subject's parents. Officers  advised them of the complaint. Officer advised the parents to contact PCPD in the future and Officers could assist with talking to subject.  Officers then returned to patrol.

Driving Complaint

South Jefferson Ave.

Officers were dispatched to the area of US42 near Alcott Dr referencing a driving complaint. Upon arrival, Officers observed the semi and trailer stopping at the lot of the listed location. Officers also observed smoke coming from the rear wheels of the trailer. Semi driver advised he contacted his boss, who would be sending out a mechanic. The vehicle was off the roadway. Driver was advised if he had any further issues to contact PCPD. Officer then returned to patrol.

Suspicious Circumstances

North Ave.

Officer was stationary at North Avenue when Officer was approached by subject. Subject advised Officer he had a strange odor in his residence and requested Officer assist him with locating the source. While attempting to locate the source subject's roommate arrived at the scene who advised the smell was coming from the crock pot that had been left on and empty all day. Upon determining everything to be okay, Officer returned to patrol.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a dispute. The caller advised that his roommates were plotting to kill him. Officers spoke with subject's roommates.  Both advised that they were not plotting against the caller.  Caller advised that he was moving out and started packing up his property.  Caller advised that he had a ride and that when they came, he would pick up his property and leave the area. Caller left the area on foot to wait for his ride.

Officer was dispatched to the police department in reference to a mental health incident. Dispatch advised that subject was on station and requested to go to a safe place. Upon arrival, Officer observed subject standing on the porch. Subject advised that he would like to go to UCMH for an evaluation. Medic 262 arrived on the scene and subject voluntarily went to the hospital.  CIT Report completed.

Officers responded to the listed location in reference to a landlord/tenant dispute. Upon arrival complainant advised he believed that his landlord had come to the residence and taken keys and placed the mattresses outside. Officer collected a witness statement from complainant.  Possible case to be opened. Subject was advised to look for his keys overnight.

Officer was met on station by an anonymous passerby. Subject advised that he had found a parking pass lying in the road near the Plain City Animal Hospital on West Bigelow Avenue. Subject provided Officer with the laminated pass.  Officer contacted company of the pass owner who advised they would make arrangements to pick up the parking pass.

Officer was on patrol near the listed location when Officer observed the driver's door open on a black Chevrolet Blazer.  Officer attempted contact with the vehicle owner without success. Officer then went to secure the door, however Officer learned that door did not latch and kept opening back up. Upon determining everything to be okay, Officer returned to patrol.

Officer was requested by the Union County Sheriff's Office to assist UCSO Deputy with a building search at the listed location. Once assistance was no longer needed, Officer returned to patrol.

Officer was contacted on station by complainant who advised that she and her ex husband recently had dispute over visitation.  Officer advised complainant that Officer would document the complaint and also that the Police Department would provided extra patrol to the area. Complainant was also advised to contact the Police Department if ex-husband returns to the residence and pounds on her door.
