Parking Complaint

Officer was on patrol when Officer observed a 2012 black Ford illegally parked on the south side of the road. Officer went to the listed location and made contact with the owner and advised him of the situation. Subject moved his vehicle without incident. Officer then returned to patrol.

Non-Injury Crash

West Ave.

Officer responded to West Avenue at Willowcreek Drive in reference to a non-injury crash. Upon arrival, Officer met with Sean O'Connor and driver of the other vehicle.  Sean was issued a citation for Failure to Yield at a Stop Sign (PC Ord.#331.19a). Both vehicles received minor damage and were driven from the scene.

Officer was on patrol on US42 near West Ave. when Officer observed a non-injury crash. When assistance was no longer needed, Officers returned to patrol.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location reference a non-injury private property crash. Officer made contact with Herman Nienhaus who advised that he struck the dumpster with his Honda Accord.  He was subsequently arrested for OVI.  See case for further.

Officer met with complainant.  Complainant advised that the front windshield of their Volvo trackhoe appears to have been shot by a BB. Officer photographed the damage and told complainant the police department would provide extra patrol. After determining everything to be fine, Officer returned to patrol.

Officer was advised of a trespassing complaint at the listed location. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with a resident there. Upon determining everything to be okay, Officers returned to patrol.

911 Follow-up

Maple St.

Officer was dispatched to the area of the listed location in reference to 911 Follow-up. Dispatch advised the caller stated that he was at the listed location and everything was fine.  Officer patrolled the area and also checked the indoor batting cages, but was unable to locate subject. Officer left a message for subject to contact Officer. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a 911 Follow-up. Upon arrival, Officer patrolled the area and did not observe anything out of the ordinary. Officer called the number back and left a message for the owner to contact Officer. Officer then returned to patrol.

Suspicious Vehicle

East Main St.

Officer received a call from the Village Administrator who stated that there was a vehicle that appeared to be abandoned in the parking lot of the list location. Due to the circumstances, Officer rolled up the windows, secured the vehicle and took the keys to the police department for safekeeping. Officer then returned to patrol.  A short time later, dispatch notified Officer that the driver of the vehicle was back on the scene. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with the vehicle owner who as in the process of changing the flat tire. Vehicle owner thanked Officer for taking the key and securing the vehicle. Once the key was returned, Officer returned to patrol.

Missing Juvenile

Maple Ct.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a missing child. Upon arrival, Officer met with the caller. Officer then returned to patrol and checked McDonald's and several areas around town and was unable to locate the juvenile.  The juvenile returned home at 0026 hours and was removed from LEADS. Officer will be completing Curfew charges on juvenile for the incident.  See OIR #19-0138 for additional information.

Officer was dispatched to a non-injury crash that occurred in the area of Scheiderer Farm's on SR 161 just east of the village. Officer stood by until units from OSP Post 49 arrived on scene. Officer then returned to patrol.

Attempted Suicide

Maple Ct.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a follow up from a OIR#19-137. While meeting subjects,   Officer observed that juvenile appeared to be under the influence of a medication or illegal drug. Officer then requested the medics to respond to the scene due to juvenile's history of suicide attempts. Juvenile was transported by Medic to the Hospital where she was released for treatment. 911 Follow-up

Officer was dispatched to the listed location on a 911 follow-up. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with several subjects.   It appeared that one subject, who was intoxicated, and speaking on the phone, had accidentally called 911 from his cell phone. After determining everything was okay, both units returned to patrol.

Criminal Damaging

Friend St.

Officer met with complainant at her residence.   Complainant showed Officer where a semi drove off of Friend Street onto West Bigelow Avenue and through her yard causing deep ruts. Officer located the driver of the semi who acknowledged that he drove through two yards in trying to get turned around. Driver provided his information as well as his company's information so that they could make restitution for the damage, if necessary.  See photos for further.

Warrant - Misdemeanor

West Main St.

While on routine patrol, Officer observed Kyle Stanley sitting on his front porch. Having prior knowledge that Kyle had an entered warrant for his arrest, Officer made contact with him. Kyle was subsequently placed into custody for a Probation Violation out of the Madison County Municipal Court (confirmed). Officer transported him to the Tri-County Regional Jail and released him into their custody. See attached warrant for further information.

Officer received a call from the Madison County Sheriff's Office in reference to a 911 Follow-up. Officer was able to contact caller at the phone number provided. Caller assured Officer everything was fine and she was at her residence.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a structure fire. Upon arrival with station 261, Officers controlled traffic as they put out the fire. Officers controlled traffic until assistance was no longer needed. The fire was put out without incident. Officers then returned to patrol.

Parking Complaint

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a parking complaint. Officer was able to make contact with the truck owner/driver who apologized and advised Officer he was looking for a place to park and parked partially in the yard not knowing it would do any damage. Subject apologized for damaging the yard and advised it wouldn't happen again. Officer then returned to patrol.
