Domestic Violence - Misdemeanor

East West Ave.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with the caller who stated that he was in a domestic dispute with his live-in girlfriend, Lindsey Chamblin. Upon further investigation, Lindsay was placed into custody for Domestic Violence and transported to Tri-County Regional Jail. Officer provided the caller with a VOCA packet and issued a temporary protection order. Due to a child being present during the dispute, a copy of this report will be forwarded to the Madison County Department of Jobs and family services.  Officer then returned to patrol.

Parking Complaint

Foster St.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a parking complaint.  The Village Administrator received a complaint that subject was living inside a disabled white van parked in front of the listed location. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with subject who stated that she was not living in the van. She stated that she would make sure to have the van fixed and properly registered so it could be driven. Officer then made contact with the property owner. Officer advised property owner of the possible consequences if the van was not removed. Property owner stated that she would make sure the issue was resolved. Officer then returned to patrol.

SR 161 E

On the listed date and time, Officer was dispatched to a possible injury crash on SR 161 East at Old SR 161. Upon arrival, Officer found that the crash was outside the Plain City corporation limits. Officer then requested dispatch to advise Madison County. Officer stood by until assistance was no longer needed.  Officer then returned to patrol.

Animal Complaint - Other

West Main St.

On the listed date and time, Officer was dispatched the listed location in reference to a loose dog complaint. The anonymous complainant advised that a white dog was wandering around the building there and had defecated in the yard directly east of that property. Upon arrival, Officer located the dog.  Officer then met with the owner of the dog who was trying to locate the dog. Officer advised dog owner to ensure the dog does not get loose again and requested she clean up the defecation in the adjacent yard. Dog owner then secured the dog in her car and cleaned it up. Officer then returned to patrol.

Failure to Pay

West Main St.

Officer was dispatched to Mike's Pit Stop in reference to a patron that pumped gas and did not pay. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with the caller, an employee of Mike’s Pit Stop, who advised that a subject in his 70s or 80s, driving a maroon Honda CRV, had pulled up to pump 1. The employee had approved the pump and then the subject tried to swipe his credit card, but it did not process. After the subject left, the employee realized that the transaction had failed.

After reviewing the video, Officer was able to obtain the license plate of the Maroon CRV and located the subject’s phone number.  Subject confirmed that he had pumped gas at Mike's Pit Stop but was unaware of an issue with the credit card. Subject advised that he would contact Mike's Pit Stop and take care of the issue.

Recovered/Found Property

North Chillicothe St.

Officer was met on station by an anonymous passerby. He advised that he had found an Ohio license plate lying in the road on North Chillicothe near Noteman Road. Officer took the plate and attempted to contact the owner via phone. On 5/29/2019 the owner arrived on station and retrieved his license plate.

Traffic Stop

West Main St.

Officer observed a white Cadillac SUV pulling a black Utility Trailer traveling westbound on West Main St near South Jefferson Ave. The trailer had no operational tail lights or brake lights. Officer initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and made contact with the vehicle operator, Christopher Lambert, and his passenger. After further investigation, it was found neither of them had a valid driver’s license. Dispatch later advised neither the vehicle nor the trailer registration returned on file. Both subjects advised the vehicle and trailer belong to a company out of Richmond, IN. The vehicle was later towed to the Village of Plain City Municipal Garage to keep the trailer contents dry. Christopher was issued a traffic citation for No Valid OL, Driving Under Suspension, Fictitious Tags, and Two Brake Lights required. Verbal warning expired Reg (Trailer) and No Taillights. Christopher and his passenger were then given a courtesy ride to Shell Gas Station to wait on their ride.
