Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to an Identity Theft complaint. Upon arrival, Officer met with the caller who advised Officer that her phone number had been transferred from her phone account without her permission and activated on another carrier. Caller advised she contacted phone carrier and they advised caller to fill out a police report. Caller advised that phone carrier customer service advised that someone probably entered the wrong number for transfer advising that happens occasionally. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer was met at the Police Department by complainant who advised Officer that her son is not listening and she would like Officer to speak with him. Officer then spoke with the son and advised him of the importance of following the rules. The son agreed to listen. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to vehicle damage. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with caller. Caller advised that she drove her vehicle, a white Honda SUV through the car wash and popped her driver's side front tire. Upon further investigation, caller advised she must've driven improperly over the metal barriers within the car wash causing tire damage. No damage was observed in reference to the car wash. The owner of the car wash was made aware of the incident. After caller’s tire was changed, Officer returned to patrol.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to an attempted scam call. Officer made contact with caller who advised someone called her advising they were a relative, asking for money. Upon callback, the line dropped and no one could be reached. Caller was advised to file a complaint with the AG's Office. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer was traveling southbound on Plain City Georgesville Road when Officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked on Ratcliff Drive. Upon entering the Darby Fields subdivision, Officer observed the 2008 grey Dodge traveling on Alderwood Circle attempting to leave the subdivision. Officer initiated Officer’s emergency lights and made contact with the driver, Kazdan Miller. While speaking with Kazdan Officer learned his vehicle registration was expired.  Kazdan was issued a citation for Expired Tags and advised of his court date. Officer then returned to patrol.

On the stated date and time Officer responded to the listed location at the request of the Union County Sheriff’s Office, in reference to an alarm drop. After determining everything checked okay, Officer returned to patrol.

Officer was dispatched to the area of Red Knott Court in reference to a blue and grey GMC Suburban being driven slowly through the complex. Upon arrival, Officer located the vehicle parked in front of the new build home on Alderwood Circle South. Having prior knowledge that the vehicle owner was a window installer for MI Homes, Officer made contact with the vehicle owner. Subject advised he had stopped at a few of the garage sales prior to starting work and with all the kids out walking subject took it slowly through the neighborhood.  Officer then went and met with the caller and advised him of Officer’s findings. Caller thanked Officer for checking it out. Officer then returned to patrol

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a well-being check. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with subject who advised he was fine and healthy. After deeming everything fine, Officer returned to patrol.

South Jefferson Ave.

Officer was running stationary patrol on South Jefferson Avenue near West Avenue. Officer observed a white Chevrolet Pick-Up Truck traveling southbound on South Jefferson Avenue. Officer conducted a registration check on the vehicle and observed the registration returned to a blue Chevrolet Pick-Up Truck. Officer got behind the vehicle and then observed it only had one operational brake light (passenger side). Officer initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and made contact with the vehicle driver, Michael Phipps, front seat passenger, and the back seat passenger who was seated on the passenger side, Harold Reynolds. Officer observed that the front seat passenger was not wearing his seat belt. Officer completed a check of the Vehicle Identification Number and found out it returned to the correct vehicle the color was just wrong. Officer checked the vehicle occupants driving statuses and for warrants. At this time it was found Michael’s license was showing expired but did not give an expiration date. Both Harold and the front seat passenger had outstanding warrants but they were out of the pick-up radius. Officer then got verbal consent to search the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle Officer located a multi colored wallet under the back right passenger seat where Harold was sitting. The wallet contained a capped syringe, Harold’s Identification Card, and alcohol pads/swabs. Officer checked the seat where Harold was sitting and located several foil pieces with a white powder residue on them. Officer also checked the seat pocket in front of where Harold was sitting. In the seat pocket Officer located an open clear plastic bag with a small amount of white powder inside.  Michael was issued a traffic citation for No Valid OL. Michael was given a verbal warning for one brake light and advised to get the registration issue fixed. Front seat passenger was given a verbal warning for no seat belt.  Harold was transported to the Tri-County Jail and booked in for Drug Abuse Instruments. Harold has felony charges pending lab review.

Non-Injury Crash/Private

West Main St.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to non-injury accident on private property. Upon arrival, Officer met with subject who stated that he was backing a 2013 Honda Odyssey in the parking lot. In doing so, he did not see the white pole for the Marathon sign near the roadway. He struck the pole and caused minor damage to the vehicle and none to the pole. A report was taken for information.

Neighbor Dispute

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a neighbor dispute. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with the caller who stated that he was involved in a verbal dispute with two subjects.  Caller stated that he made contact with both parties at the listed location and requested they stopped yelling. Caller stated that both parties became upset and began arguing with him. Officer then made contact with subjects inside the listed location. Both subjects apologized for arguing with caller. Officer advised both parties to have no further contact with caller for the night and advised them of the Village Noise Ordinance. Officer then returned to patrol.

Theft - Felony

South Chillicothe St.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a possible theft of medication. Upon arrival, Officer met with complainant who advised her company checks on resident once a day. Yesterday around 1300 hours, resident had 34 tablets of medication in a pill container prescribed to her. Today when complainant arrived at around 1500 hours, there were only 26 tablets left. According to a family friend who's been helping care for resident, resident had not taken any of them. Complainant advised the pills were in the possession of resident’s son who also lives at the listed location and is the Power of Attorney.  Officer then spoke with resident’s who admitted to taking and consuming resident’s medication.  Officer then made contact with the Madison County Prosecutors Office who will be making a referral to Adult Protection Services tomorrow morning. All pain medication was taken by complainant, who will be stopping by the residence every four to six hours to make sure resident is okay and give her the proper medication.  See case for further details.
