Animal Complaint - Other

North Chillicothe St.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to an animal complaint. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with the park manager who stated that subject allows the dog to walk alongside her vehicle without a leash while she drives on the park's roadway. Officer made contact with subject via public service. Officer advised subject of the complaint.  Subject stated that she understood and that she would try her best to keep the dog on a leash. Officer advised subject of the possible consequences if the dog continued to run without a leash. Officer then returned to patrol.

Traffic Stop

South Jefferson Ave.

Officer conducted a routine registration check on a green Ford SUV traveling southbound on South Jefferson Avenue near West Avenue. The registration returned to, Cordella Snyder, a suspended driver. Officer initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle and made contact with the vehicle owner/driver, Cordella Snyder. Cordella was subsequently issued a traffic citation for No Valid OL, OVI Suspension, Non Compliance Suspension, and Failure to Reinstate. Cordella's vehicle was towed to the Plain City Police Department impound lot.  The vehicle plates were seized in reference to BMV Case: NC18141875.

Drugs - Other

South Jefferson Ave.

Officer conducted a routine registration check on a navy 1998 Ford Mustang and learned that the registered owner was driving under suspension. Officer then initiated a traffic stop on US 42 near Converse Huff Rd. and made contact with the registered owner and operator, David Petee and his passenger. David was issued a citation for Non compliance Suspension and No Valid OL. David was given a summons for Drug Paraphernalia. David’s vehicle was also impounded to the Plain City Police Department Impound Lot and license plates were confiscated per BMV request. See case for further.

Officer responded to the area of Weathervane Way and Harrington Drive, in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with subject. After determining everything checked okay, Officer returned to patrol.

Officer observed a white Ford pickup that was parked in a no-parking zone in front of the listed location. Officer made contact with the vehicle owner and advised him of the incident. Subject apologized and stated that he was going to be leaving in a few minutes. After determining everything to be fine, Officer returned to patrol.

Officers were dispatched to the listed location in reference to a possible bar fight. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with several patrons.  Subject got upset and loud which got several people involved but quickly ended. Subject was gone prior to Officer’s arrival.  Later, Officer made contact with subject.  Subject was given a warning for Disorderly Conduct.

Telecom Harassment

Friend St.

Officer was met at the Police Department by complainant in reference to a harassment complaint. Complainant stated that she was receiving harassing text messages from her husband.  Complainant stated that the two had been separated for four years but not divorced. Complainant requested Officer contact her husband and advise him to stop contacting her unless it was in reference to their children. Officer also advised complainant the proper steps to follow to arrange visitation for their children. Complainant thanked Officer for his time and Officer returned to patrol.  Officer attempted to make contact with the husband several times via public service but was sent to voicemail. Officer will have another unit try to contact the husband during their shift.

Officer responded to the listed location at the request of the Union County Sheriff’s Office in reference to an alarm drop. After assistance was no longer needed, Officer returned to patrol.

North Chillicothe St.

Officer was traveling northbound on North Chillicothe St near Pastime Park behind a black Ford Fusion.  The vehicle appeared to be traveling above the posted speed of 35MPH.  Officer paced the vehicle at 47MPH. Officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the vehicle driver/owner, Jonathan Rideout. Jonathan was issued a traffic citation for speed and a criminal summons for possession of marijuana. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer observed a brown Nissan pickup that was parked in a no-parking zone in front of the listed location. Officer made contact with the resident, who advised that the vehicle belonged to his father.  A few minutes later subject moved his vehicle without incident. After determining everything to be fine, Officer returned to patrol.

Officer was on patrol when Officer observed a road hazard at S. Chillicothe St. near W. Bigelow Ave. Officer observed a large construction sign in the roadway. It was removed without issue. Officer then returned to patrol.

Non-Injury Crash

East Main St.

Officers were dispatched to the listed location in reference to a non-injury crash. The caller advised a driver was stuck in their yard. Upon arrival, Officer observed a black Toyota sedan stuck in the grass and mud between the sidewalk and roadway. Officer made contact with the driver, Swami Mahesh, and his passenger.  Swami advised Officer was trying to find a place to park his vehicle in order to put an address into his GPS. Swami was subsequently issued a citation for Failure to Control. The towing company responded and assisted Mr. Mahesh with getting his vehicle out of the mud. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a disturbance. Complainant advised dispatch that subject was outside making a scene outside and threw something towards her neighbor's vehicle. Upon arrival, Officer met with subject, who was calm. Subject admitted to yelling and screaming because people were staring at him. He also admitted to throwing a kids scooter into the roadway, which was still there. Officer advised subject that he needed to get his anger under control and was reminded of how to calm himself down. Subject was given a warning for Disorderly Conduct. After determining everything to be fine, Officer returned to patrol.

Suspicious Circumstances

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a suspicious circumstance. Dispatch advised a car alarm was going off in front of the listed location. Upon arrival, observed a 2004 Honda van with the alarm going off. Officer made contact with the owner who advised the alarm has gone off twice in the past twenty minutes. Officer and the vehicle owner checked the vehicle, and did not observe anything out of the ordinary. Officers then checked the area but did not locate anything unusual. Officer then returned to patrol.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a stolen vehicle complaint. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with the complainant who stated that on 03-30-2019 at 1930 hours, his red Toyota Prius was parked in his front driveway. On 03-31-2019 at approximately 1045 Hours, he observed that the vehicle was no longer in his driveway. Complainant stated that he had already checked with family and friends to make sure no one had taken the vehicle. Officer advised complainant that the vehicle would be entered as stolen. Complainant thanked Officer for his time and Officer returned to patrol.  Refer to case for further.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a possible theft complaint. Upon arrival, Officer made contact with the caller. Complainant stated sometime the previous night an unknown person went through the glove box of her Jeep Cherokee.  Complainant stated that there was possibly some change taken but nothing else appeared to be missing. Complainant stated that she wanted the incident documented in case there were more thefts reported. Complainant thanked Officer for his time and Officer returned to patrol.
