Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a theft. Dispatch advised complainant was at the listed location in an attempt to get his wallet back from subject. Upon arrival, Officer spoke to complainant and his father who advised his wallet was stolen at a residence in London. Officer then spoke to subject who denied having the wallet. Complainant was advised to contact the London Police Department. Officer then returned to patrol.

Well-being Check

Dogwood Ct.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a well-being check. Complainant called and advised that he had received strange voicemail from subject’s husband and was concerned.   Upon arrival nothing was out of the ordinary. Subject admitted that she had been drinking a lot tonight and declined to be seen by the medics. Subject’s husband denied any verbal/physical altercation tonight. He was advised to contact the police department if they got into an argument and also contact the medics if subject’s condition worsened. After determining everything to be fine, Officer returned to patrol.

Animal Complaint - Other

Carriage Dr.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a found canine. Upon arrival, Officer met with caller who advised Officer that there was a small white/brown canine in her yard and didn't know who it belonged to. Officer went to the rear of the residence and learned that the canine had escaped. Officer then returned to patrol.  2130 Hours-Dispatch advised that the caller had called in and let them know that the canine was returned to its owner (unknown name).

Other Dispute

West Main St.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a customer/employee dispute. Upon arrival, Officer met with complainant in the parking lot who advised Officer that her son purchased a JUUL e-cigarette from the store earlier. When he got home, he noticed that it didn't work properly. Complainant met with the employee who advised that she was not permitted to return the item because it was opened outside of the premises. Complainant was advised that there was nothing that Officer could do because the matter was civil. Complainant left the premises and Officer returned to patrol.

Unruly

Dogwood Ct.

Officer responded to the listed address on the report of an unruly juvenile who was also threatening self-harm. Upon arrival, Officer met with juvenile and his mother who advised that juvenile was mad because he was told not to play video games. Officer was able to calm juvenile down and he said he only threatened self-harm because he was angry. He said he does not want to hurt himself.  Both were reminded to be respectful of one another and juvenile was instructed to follow the rules of the house. After determining everything to be fine, Officer returned to patrol.

Vandalism

Village Blvd.

Officer responded to the Shell Station on South Jefferson Avenue in reference to tires that had been slashed at the listed location. Upon arrival, Officer met with the vehicle owner who advised that sometime overnight someone slashed the tires on her vehicle.  Complainant’s boyfriend, Daniel Haynes, was also on the scene and he suspected that this was retaliation because a former acquaintance had accused him of stealing his wallet. Mr. Haynes had an entered warrant for a traffic violation out of Madison County. He was arrested and transported to Tri-County Jail. A case is pending a follow-up with potential suspects.

911 Follow-up

South Jefferson Ave.

Officer was dispatched to the area of South Jefferson Ave in reference to a 911 follow-up. Upon arrival to the area, Officer located subject re-paving the parking lot at the listed location who advised his phone was in his pocket and the call was accidental. After determining everything to be fine, Officer then returned to patrol.

Drug Paraphernalia

North Ave.

Officers went to the listed location in reference to a warrant service. Officers had prior knowledge that Joseph Griffith had a warrant (confirmed) out of Delaware County for Shoplifting. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with subject who admitted Joseph Griffith was hiding in the bedroom naked. Officers then placed Joseph under arrest. While subject was helping Joseph get dressed, Joseph started going in and out of consciousness. Joseph then admitted to shooting three bundles of heroin into his arm while we were knocking on the door. Medics arrived on scene shortly after and Joseph was released into their custody. He was transported to the hospital. Delaware County was advised of Joseph's status and location.

While placing Joseph under arrest, Officer observed drug paraphernalia on a table in the bedroom. We then located straws with a white powder residue, burnt tin foil, one orange suboxone pill, one marijuana pipe, one bobby pin with residue, one make-shift tourniquet, one plastic bottle pipe, and a syringe in the bathroom. All of these items were confiscated and placed into evidence.  Charges pending for both subject and Joseph.
