Officers responded on a report of a person sitting in a vehicle for an extended period of time. Contact was made with the person, it was confirmed he was the resident and everything was fine.

Officer responded on a report of fraudulant charges. The caller already contacted her bank and was able to dispute the charge and get her money back. An incident report was taken.

Officers responded on a report of a possible overdose. Upon arrival, with Medic 261, contact was made with the subject and he was cleared by the medic. During a probable cause search, drugs and drug paranphernalia were located. Also recovered was a possible stolen license plate. An investigation is ongoing and possible charges pending lab analysis.

Officer responded on a report of a vehicle on the side of the road with the flashers on and no one around. Contact was made with the owner and she stated she ran out of gas. A short time later, the owner returned to the vehicle with gas.

Officer responded on a possible missing juvenile. Upon arrival, the juvenile had been located and everything was fine.

Drunk Driver
South Jefferson Ave.
Officer responded on a complaint of a vehicle speeding and unable to maintain lanes. A traffic stop was initiated with the vehicle. Contact was made with the driver, who had glossy eyes and slurred speech. There was also a strong odor of alcohol. Subsequently, Laura Kleinschmidt, 55, of Powell, was arrested and charged with OVI, Markes Lanes, Speed and Open Container. She was released to a responsible party.
