Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a tree that had fallen down blocking the alley way. Upon arrival there was a large tree limb that had fallen and caused minor damage to a vehicle as well as blocking the alley way. Officer then contacted the street department who blocked off the roadway until the debris is removed.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a failure to pay. Upon arrival, Officer met with business owner. She advised that a white Buick SUV and a female exited the vehicle and pumped gas. The female and vehicle left a few minutes later with no payment records and no transaction. After investigation, Officer made contact with the driver and let her know her credit card payment for her fuel was not processed and she needed to go speak with business owner about it. The business owner later advised that the fuel was paid for in full without incident.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a well being check. Officer received a call at the police department, that there may have been a domestic violence incident between a juvenile and his mother earlier in the day. Upon arrival Officers spoke with the mother who advised they had gotten into an altercation the night before. Officers then advised the juvenile that he needed to obey his mother and not violate his probation.

Officer was dispatched to the listed area in reference to a driving complaint. Upon arrival, Officer located a blue Volvo stopped near the construction barricade with its emergency flashers on. Officer was able to get the vehicle to stop and made contact with the driver. Officer requested Union County Sheriff's Office have a unit meet due to the circumstances surrounding the incident. A short time later, the Deputy arrived on the scene and the Officer's presence was no longer needed.

Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a theft complaint. Upon arrival Officer made contact with the caller. She stated that sometime earlier in the day someone had taken two of her grills from behind the dumpsters at the listed location. An individual stated that he witnessed an unknown male subject in a red truck take the grills earlier in the day through his window. After speaking with the caller further Officer documented the incident and returned to patrol.

Officers responded to the listed location in reference to a suspicious person complaint. Upon arrival Officers made contact with the caller. She stated that she had granted the subject permission to stay at the listed location because he had been kicked out of his residence. She stated that she later learned that he had been banned from the property adjacent to the listed location and was concerned with him staying at the church. Officer then made contact with the caller and the subject inside the listed location. The caller stated that she had found another location for the subject to stay at for the week. Once both individuals left the listed location Officers returned to patrol.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a well-being check. Dispatch advised that they received a call from the juvenile court. The court stated that a juvenile has been staying at the residence with his middle-school age sister, while their mother is incarcerated. Upon arrival, Officer met with the juvenile’s grandmother. She advised that the juvenile was not home from school at this time. She stated that she has been staying at the residence with the children and at no time have they been left unattended.

Officers made contact with Eli having prior knowledge of an entered felony warrant out of the Union County Sheriff’s Office for failure to report to Tri-County Jail out of a Child Support case. Officer placed Eli Dean into custody without issue and transported him to The Tri-County Regional Jail.

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a theft of election signs. Upon arrival, Officer met with the caller. She advised that two Hispanic males stole a "Trump" campaign sign. Officer patrolled the area, but was unable to locate a vehicle matching that description. Officer also checked local video surveillance, but was unable to obtain any information.

He stated that he wanted to get his son, from the son's mother who was currently incarcerated. Officers were unable to make contact with anyone at the listed location. A short time later the caller made contact with the Officer via public service. He stated that he located his son and has custody of him.

Officer made contact with the caller and met with one of the residents of the complex to make them aware of what transpired. He stated that he was walking home from school when an individual confronted him and attempted to start a fight. Officer made contact with the individual and his mother at their residence. Officer advised the individual that he is not to have further contact with the complainant. He stated that he would not.

Officers were dispatched to the listed location to assist Madison County Sheriff's Office with a possible suicidal subject. Upon arrival, Officers established a perimeter on the residence and stood by until Deputies arrived. Officers learned that the subject had jumped out of his bedroom window, prior to arrival. Officers attempted to assist Deputies in locating the subject, but needed to leave due to a priority call in Plain City.

Officers were dispatched to the listed intersection in reference to a fight. Upon arrival, Officers met with residents and two passersby. Officers learned that the male was walking his dog, when she jumped up and scratched his lip. He smacked her on the nose to discipline her. After further investigation, Officers advised the passerby, that witnessed the discipline, she shouldn’t take matters in her own hands and to contact the police department next time this happens. She was also given a warning for Disorderly Conduct based on her actions during the altercation.

Dispatch advised that there was a pendant activated alarm and the alarm company was unable to reach anyone at the residence. Upon arrival, with Medic 210 and a respondent, learned that the resident activated it in their sleep. Officer determined everything to be fine.

Prior to arrival Union County Sheriff’s Deputy had located the vehicle and initiated traffic stop. Due to assistance no longer being required Officer returned to patrol.

She stated that a tan van had been parked by the north playground all night with a subject sleeping inside. Officer made contact with the female and advised her of the complaint and the parks hours. She stated that she was not aware she needed to pay for a camp site if she was not using them. She apologized and stated that she was currently homeless. Officer referred her to several organizations where she could receive assistance. Once she left the park Officer returned to patrol.

Officer was on patrol and observed a suspicious black Subaru parked near the horse barn at the listed location. Officer made contact with Justin and Rachel Davis, who advised they are homeless and were sleeping in their car. Officer advised them the park was closed and they had to pay to stay at a camp site or leave the park. After advising Rachel and Justin of other possible places to sleep, they left the park. Justin and Rachel Davis will be cited for Trespassing.

Officer was dispatched to listed location on the report of a non-injury hit-skip crash. Upon arrival, Officer met with the driver of a black Chevy Silverado. He advised that a pickup truck pulling a grain head for a combine stopped at the stop sign, the truck backed up and struck his truck causing damage to the hood. He described the truck as a red, possibly Ford pulling a large John Deere grain head. Officer completed a crash report that he could use to report to his insurance company.

Officer met with the Parks and Recreation Director. She advised that there had been a tent setup near the horse barn for a couple of days but she had not received a camping registration or fees. Officer then met with the individuals at the tent. They advised that since they were no longer staying with one of the individual 's mother they began camping at the park with the assistance of DNA. Officer called DNA and told her that no registration or fees had been received. She advised that she would take care of it today and apologized for the inconvenience.

Officer was dispatched to the Marathon on the report of a theft. Dispatch advised that a witness followed the suspect to where the suspect entered a barn at the rear of the property. Officers went to the location and made contact with the suspect, Anthony M. Hopkins. He eventually admitted to stealing Dutch Master Cigarillos. Officer placed Anthony M. Hopkins under arrest and transported him to the police department where he was issued a summons for the theft.

After investigation both juveniles were detained and placed in the rear of Officers' vehicles until their parents, who arrived a short time later to take their children home. One juvenile was subsequently charged with Minor's Curfew, Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Drugs. The second juvenile will subsequently be charged with Curfew and Possession of Drugs.

Officer advised it was not a good idea to hang out on the lot of a closed business. The male apologized and advised he was just getting ready to head home now. Officer determined everything to check okay.

She advised that she had been on the phone with a man who claimed his name was Bill O'Connor who worked for the IRS. He directed her to withdrawal $500 from the bank and then go to Target and purchase a gift card. She disconnected the call and contacted the Police at this time. Officer advised that this was a common scam and that we had received numerous calls like this recently. She did not suffer any monetary loss.

They checked the interior of the residence and found that it had been disturbed, but no one was inside. Officers stayed until presence was no longer needed.

She advised that she hasn't attempted to contact the caller since last month. Officer advised her of the consequences she could face if she is calling.

Officer made contact with the neighbor, via public service and advised him of the complaint. He stated that he hasn't had a fire in a while and wasn't sure why she was saying this. Officer explained the ordinance to for future reference and he advised that he understood. He was also referred to our Codified Ordinances if he had any further questions.

He stated that he just left a friend residence and wanted a cigarette, because he hadn't had one in a while. He also doesn't like to smoke while driving. Officer determined everything to be fine.

Juvenile
North Ave.
Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a juvenile complaint. The complainant stated that he saw young juveniles running around the listed location and thought that their parents were not home. Upon arrival, with backup, Officers met with the juveniles' mother and learned that her daughters were running back and forth between location the mother and juveniles were moving from and location moving to. The mother apologized and Officers determined everything to be fine.

Traffic Stop
West Main St.
Officer conducted a routine registration check on a Black Mazda 3, westbound on the listed street. Officer learned that the registered owner was under suspension and initiated a traffic stop. Officer made contact with the driver/owner, James Parson, and advised him why his vehicle was stopped. James Parson was issued a citation for No Ohio License and a Non Compliance Suspension.

Recovered/Found Property
East Main St.
Officer was on foot patrol when approached by an individual who stated he had found a wallet. Officer contacted Champaign County dispatch to send a unit to the property owner's residence to try and make contact they advised he was not home.

911 Follow-up

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a 911 follow up. Upon arrival with backup Officers made contact with the caller. She apologized for the error and advised she had accidently dialed while attempting to power down her Apple watch for the night. Officers determined everything to be okay.

Neighbor Dispute
North Ave.
Officer responded to the listed location in reference to a neighbor dispute. Upon arrival Officer made contact with the caller. She stated that her neighbor was power washing her residence without her permission and would like her to leave. Officer then made contact with the suspect. She stated that she had received permission from the landlord to power wash the residence but that she would stop and leave the property.

Loud Noise/Disturbance

Officer was dispatched to the listed location in reference to a loud noise complaint. Upon arrival Officer met with a female individual who was outside working on her car with loud music playing. Officer asked the music be turned down and she went ahead and shut the music off for the night.
